Awesome book in same style as Todd's CV Review Books which are the gold standard for cath lab exams. Prepared me for the RCES. --reader1
I took my exam the RCES in April 2013 and passed it. I thought the book was useful in bridging the gap between the complex situations and the basic situations. Most of the time I understand the complex situations and sometimes don't know why? The explanations in the book where well thought out and offered the missing components to bridge that gap. The only problem I had with the book was the miss-spelled words, missed words, and forgotten sentence structure. I also used your prep items when I took the cath. lab boards through the ARRT and used the Wess Todd CD. In comparison I could move around the structure of the Cd and its contents faster than looking it up in the book. I had some Ideas as far as the Game Things, like the Cath. Cd. The Cardiac action potential was all over this exam with reference to drugs and how they effect the potential and a game labeling anatomical structure part would be great, Koch triangle, anterior/ posterior locations ect. you get the idea. Finally, some sort of graph game would be great for 12 ld. differential diagnoses, delta differential diagnosis, Vt Lead differential diagnosis. Just a way to show how each mechanism randomizes a decision for proper diagnosis. Anyway I could talk for ever about the intricacies of how to learn and teach such mystical material. The book is a great reference from the basics of EP to the current things that are happening in the lab. these days and I will recommend the book to anyone. --rad tech
I am so glad that you e-mailed me as I was going to get in contact with you. Your book was wonderful and I am recommending it to everyone I talk to in EP! I have worked EP for many years but being a 'teaching hosp' I rarely touched the recording system as we have fellows and a PA. The staff has more recently been involved with the mapping systems and the recording system etc. I attended two different SCIP review courses and your book gave me more valuable /usable knowlegde. You have excellant practical information and your format was invaluable. You explained the right answer ; but you also explained why the other answers were incorrect. Thank-you so much and I will pass the word. I took my test last firday and I credit you with passing. I went completely thru your book twice and will continue to go thru it occasionally. I plan on continuing to study/reveiw daily. Another good attribute of your book was that it was more on my level as a staff member in the EP lab. I hope you come out with a book number two! I will undoubtly purchase it. There was teminology on the test that I had never heard of and I am hoping you will continue your endeavors as a wonderful instructor. --EP Lab manage
